Northern Nevada Guardianship Services, Inc. - Mission Statement It's All About Respect! NNGS is a private professional guardianship company comprised of compassionate professionals who practice ethical decision making in managing the needs of adults who demonstrate diminished mental capacity and experience difficulty with practical judgment.

Our Vision is to continually adapt our practice to respond to the unique challenges presented in guardianship.

Our Goal at NNGS is to approach each individual with a plan of care and service provision unique to their needs and known desires. Through highly qualified compassionate professionals we strive to achieve and maintain the person's dignity and autonomy. We strive to accomplish this by:

Promoting the highest level of client (ward) autonomy while continually assessing and minimizing risk;
Developing support systems, honoring the person's unique values and promoting self esteem;
Promoting connections with family, friends, and community;
Respecting each family's need for involvement and information;
Offering guardianship services within the specification of the Nevada Revised Statutes;
Addressing the least restrictive, least intrusive, most appropriate interventions for the specific individual;
Identifying solutions to existing problems while promoting quality of life and maximizing autonomy;
Practicing ethical "substitute judgment";
Assuring that the guardianship staff is professionally diverse processing a variety of skill sets that enable them to address the myriad of guardianship issues;
Promoting personal and professional growth that benefits the client (ward); and
Adhering to the National Guardianship Association Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
