The Guardian's Relationship to the Court
Guardianships are established through a legal process and are subject to the supervision of the Court.
The guardianship court order determines the authority and the limitations of the guardian.
The guardian must know the extent of the powers granted by the Court and shall not act beyond those powers.
Any questions about the meaning of the order or directions from the Court will be clarified with the Court before taking action based on the order.
The guardian is responsible for obtaining Court authorization for actions that are subject to Court approval.
The guardian shall submit reports regarding the status of the guardianship to the Court as ordered by the Court or required by state statute, but not less than annually.
